Matt McIlwain is a managing director at Madrona Ventures, where he drives the firm's decade-long investment strategy in intelligent applications. He has backed companies that leverage AI to transform everything from drug discovery to building applications that are overhauling the enterprise software industry. Matt is also passionate about advancing the AI ecosystem, working closely with organizations such as the Allen Institute for AI and the University of Washington Allen School of Computer Science. Matt also produces the Intelligent Application 40 list of the top private companies in applied AI and the corresponding IA Summit, that Madrona holds every fall to bring together 300 of the best AI minds in big tech with the brightest and most exciting new AI founders.
